Everyone who participates will be entered in a $529 drawing.

WHEN:

Friday, September 25, 2009 - 10:00 AM

WHERE:

Military Park and Canal Walk, White River State Park, Indianapolis

HOW:

Visit www.walkintomyfuture.com for information, pre-registration (which is encouraged) and Walk Participation Kits. IPS fifth-grade students will also receive info packets from their teachers.

WHY:

There are several reasons this is a newsworthy event:
1. Because something like this has never happened before. Anywhere!
2. It features thousands of kids, outdoors, being active, to raise money for college.
3. Studies show that kids who have money put aside for college, regardless of the amount or their family’s financial situation, are more likely to pursue and go to college.
4. At a time when Washington D.C. is grappling with long-term solutions to help families save and finance a college education, the kids of Indianapolis are taking matters into their own hands.

If you are not an Indiana taxpayer, consider before investing whether your or the beneficiary’s home state offers any state tax or other benefits that are only available for investments in such state's qualified tuition program.
